Something "magical" in Blade & Soul 分類: 未分類
I honestly wish something "magical" could be done about it. But it's not going to happen.
We all know how outdated B&S is and with NCSOFT's track record as support, I don't foresee an immediate nor distant solution, other than what they've been doing (Banning them).
However, even their current ban process is unacceptable. Two of the main/major hackers were reported as early as the first week of February. They were all over Youtube and had tons of reports sent in. Even after I posted a video of one of them, with 5000+ views in a few days, he was not banned until a full week later, after he had been sitting on the Diamond bench and climbed to top 10 players in the entire bracket.
It hasn't been as bad as it was some weeks ago, but there is still hackers here and there in the mid to upper Plat level and from what I can get more Blade And Soul Gold, most are in the early to mid Diamond bracket now.
The early Gold and below levels are plagued by bots as well, though again, not as bad as a few weeks ago (It was horrendous then).
Regardless, arena as it is right now, is a coin toss no matter what bracket you're in. It's a real shame 'cause I was actually enjoying playing against actual, legitimate players for a while.


The Balance of Blade & Soul 分類: 未分類
Balance for the most part has been steady. There have been a couple patches where one or two classes stood above the rest but that was earlier in the Korean patches. The exception is right now in Korea, Warlock is a bit imbalanced but it's a brand new class and there has not been balancing since it's release. It will be tuned quickly.
Lucky for the NA client we are updated to the most recent patch for the foreign versions and are enjoying a lot of balance. Some classes feel stronger than others but nobody is standing WAY above the other and every class is competitively viable. Plus the scene is very young, meaning skill trumps everything at this point.
As with every fighting style game, there will be imbalance here or there and at some point a patch will mess things up for a bit. But its always been addressed quickly. At the worst you will have a class that's A tier and other B tier or C tier classes but never the ridiculousness that some games reach where a class becomes S+ tier and no one else can compete.
I bought a founder's pack just to check it out. I played about 8 hours and I'm done. For me, it feels like I'm playing a super korean version of Tera 2.0 or something. I'm just not feeling it personally. It feels really linear (ie. I run down a road to go to a place and the road is the only option, you can't climb/jump/run up like sides of hills and places you were obviously meant to Buy Blade And Soul Gold. The jumping really high and gliding and stuff is what kind of made me want to play because I loved the gliders from AA so much (stupid I know) but even so you can't glide (fly) over like walls and stuff due to invisible barriers.
Graphics aren't the main thing I need in a game, but I need immersion. This game feels like old school WoW in that there is no grass or bushes or anything, its like barren land with a few mobs there. You can stand in the middle of an area and see everything (assuming no structures are blocking obviously, but things like trees/tall grass/bushes won't block view), which for me, just makes it feel like a game / task - its like walking into a puzzle room and seeing all the puzzles you know you'll have to do before you've even started one. Your character is very pretty but when you move it just feels so .... pre-rendered if that makes any sense. Its like I don't "feel" like I'm moving - I feel like I'm pushing a button and then a model is moving - not sure If I can explain that one

The looting system in Blade & Soul is a little bit complicated but there are 2 ways of looting:
1- Bidding: Any item with a grade the same as or higher than the grade specified by the party leader is put on auction between the party members.
Players are limited to bid within 20 seconds or the auctioning system will move to the next item picked up and the previous item will not go to any of the party members but will be converted to money equivalent to the NPC vendor price and the money distributed equally on party members.
Once a party member bids (or raises the previous bid), the timer is reset. If the timer runs out with Blade & Soul Gold, the person with the highest bid gets the item and the money is taken from the winner and distributed equally on the other members.
Any members can withdraw from the auction on an item if they don't wish to get the item but just want the money distributed.
If all the members except one withdraw from the auction, the item is given to that one person.
The party leader can set a minimum amount of money for the players to bid on the items picked up.
If the players don't want to pay the minimum amount (or get the item) they could simply not bid and they will not be forced to pay any money.
2- Free For All: Any player can pick up any item. Can be used alone or in combination with bidding. (All items lower than the grade specified by the party leader can be picked up by any one)

Quests to save the world are rarely ever complete. Throughout your travels you’ll experience a sweeping story of good and evil, and continually make progress toward your goals, but there are some tasks that can never truly be completed. These quests revolve around recurring regional problems, and offer you the ability to continually offer assistance each day for additional rewards.
It’s possible to complete 40 daily quests a day, and these can be identified by an infinity symbol overlaying a blue quest marker. This indicates that this quest is available again for you each day, and can optionally be completed again. You will also want to visit the centrally located Noticeboards—which offer the area’s daily quests directly—if you’re looking to efficiently take on a number of quests at the same time.
While most daily quests only require you to offer your assistance and complete a task, some are offered by specific faction members, and you’ll need to be wearing that faction’s clothing to be able to accept them.
While the enemies you defeat during daily quests will sometimes have their own unique treasures, turning in a daily quest can offer a variety of rewards from the quest giver; including Blade-Soul Gold, XP, consumables, and Valor Stones. Continually completing daily quests can not only be a good source of income, but can also
