Drama addiction

I have always been a crazy TV viewer but due to the very very very poor standard of local drama, the frequency I switched on my TV decreased drastically.  But I found a very good substitute - double drama on Pearl.

I didn't realize it's an addict when I started watching X-Files, Friends, ER etc every week.  But now, I know it because I proactively search for good drama on internet and try to see if my friends have the video.  My latest beloved drama is House. I LOVE that arrogant man because he is damn smart.  I also watch L-Words, I'm envious of the girls' live style - so free and dare say & do anything.

Any good thing coming up?  I'm watching "Coupling" from BBC ... another humorous sitcom ...

Rules Kids Won't Learn in School

Rule #1. Life is not fair. Get used to it. The average teenager uses the phrase "it's not fair" 8.6 times a day. You got it from your parents, who said it so often you decided they must be the most idealistic generation ever. When they started hearing it from their own kids, they realized Rule #1.

Rule #2. The real world won't care as much about your self-esteem as your school does. It'll expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself. This may come as a shock. Usually, when inflated self-esteem meets reality, kids complain that it's not fair. (See Rule No. 1)

Rule #3. Sorry, you won't make $50,000 a year right out of high school. And you won't be a vice president or have a car phone either. You may even have to wear a uniform that doesn't have a Gap label.

Rule #4. If you think your teacher is tough, wait 'til you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure, so he tends to be a bit edgier. When you screw up, he is not going ask you how feel about it.

Rule #5. Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping. They called it opportunity. They weren't embarrassed making minimum wage either. They would have been embarrassed to sit around talking about Fifty Cent all weekend.

It's rain again

I always like rainy days ... not drizzling, but heavy rain, thunder storm ...

It's raining outside - but I don't feel happy because I'm kept inside.  I wanna break out but don't know how.

Life's like a box of chocolate and you never know what your next bite tastes.  I say life's like a losing game - no matter what you do, how hard you try, you are always the losing side.  God's always poking fun on you.

Tonight I'm frustrated and I find no way out.  What should I do?  I don't know the answer.  Can anyboby tell me?

Another test result

I'm a mango lover so here is the "analysis" ...

MANGO: A mango lover is a personality to reckoned with; quite often, you are a
person who has quite fixed ideas, and influencing you is not an easy task. You
tend to bean extremist with strong likes and dislikes, and at times even like to
control a situation. You enjoy getting involved in something that presents
mental challenge. Strong as you may be, you are like a kitten when you are with
your partner. You accommodate the love of your life, and make up for all the
strong will elsewhere!

Black Rainstorm Warning

After a gloomy hot day & night, it has been raining damn heavily since midnight.  Switched on TV and noted the signal is hoisted.  Would it last until morning?

Note:  The BLACK signals warn the public of heavy rain which is likely to bring about serious road flooding and traffic congestion. They will trigger response actions by Government departments and major transport and utility operators. The public will be given clear advice on the appropriate actions to take.

Oh~  TVB always have old black-and-white movies showing at late night.  Today it's a Japanese one 透明人間- special effect by Yen-Guk-Ying-Yi - the boss of the company which makes Ultraman series movies.  wow~  英雄莫問出處 ...

House M.D.

My new addiction - watching "House M.D>".

This is an extremely interesting drama - about a very smart but lazy doctor.  He has 3 "interns" (?) to work for him, and what he need to do is to show up and give the right diagnosis to the patients.  But during the rest of his time, he is forced to attend praction - "entertaining" out-patients.

Why I said this is an interesting drama because I learned a lot of things during the out-patient work of Dr. Greg House:  a tight wrist of the watch will make your fingers numb, wearing a tight bra will make your chest pain ... etc etc ... What said watching TV is not good?

But the most fascinating part of the story is how "inhumanity" of Dr. Hosue.  I think because of this, he can always make the right diagnosis.  My favorite drama lately.

Some interesting information about Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Gregory House - both are investigators.
