I've told myself that I should start looking for another job for a very ... long time. How long ago? Since 2003 lu ...
Now, the situation of the office becomes so different, so political that I cannot handle any more. Most of all, I think I'm an "orphan" - nobody would take care of me. I have the highest but lowest grade in the "department" that I do everything although I have a title as supervisor (but there is no one that I have been / am / will be supervising). No more space for development as what I'm doing is "editing" and lots and lots of paper work. What's the difference with a clerk???
I should sit down, have a deep thought and then it's time to leave - the people, the work and the politics here.

| When there is a will, there is a way |
Watched a video clip this morning, about a mom who does not have arms - not even one. The video shows how she takes care of her baby (holding the baby, changing diapers, carrying him up and down his baby bed ...) and how she does house works (laundry, grocery shopping, and evening - driving). Not only she can manage these "daily housework", the video also shows her working with her computer.
She really is an iron-will lady. She said, "When there is a will, there is a way". This is exactly a mirror of our old wisdom: 天下無難事,只怕有心人.
I should try to mirror her (not in the way to chop off my arms) but it's really hard. I think when the situation comes, one can be super strong - both physically and mentally.

This morning when I read online stories, I found something which was really "sound of my heart":
我一次次告訴自己「要堅強!你可以的,你辦得到的。你一定要堅強、要勇敢、要努力…」一次次,我不斷說著、不停重複,終於成功催眠自己,讓自己變得勇敢又堅強…
The only thing not being mentioned in the story is the ending of this statement:
這讓我最後變得沒人疼沒人愛 ...
So you see, there is still somebody in this world understands you ... |

I have to confess - I REGRET IT~
The story began when I traveled to Malaysia. Due to a shortage of manpower, the paperworks of my department were not properly handled. So I told them: whenever there is new cases, please pass it to me and I'll take care of them in HK.
OK~ in the first week, I only received a few which is fine. Then in the next week, about 1 every 2 days which is still acceptable. But this week, oh my god, a few new files EVERYDAY. So now, I'm actually working full time for Malaysia ...
Then back to Thailand. During the training to the new girl, everything went well and her English is understandable (maybe because we communicated face to face) and I even told my boss that the girl was good because her English was good. But last week, I could not even understand a single sentence on her report. God~ Did I do something wrong or evil so I'm punished this way? |

Do you know what is an island? It's a small piece of land in the middle of the sea, surrounded by water. Just like the location of "Lost".
Do you know what is the feeling of staying in an island? Desperate, helpless, lonely, boring ... just like "Lost".
Today I felt that I'm in an island. I felt desperate and helpless as there is no support around me. Work rushed to me like sea water which almost killed me.
The only way out is to swim across the sea - that is in my case, to finish all the work. But you know what, the result of swimming across the sea is always drowning to dead. So you see I'm 90% dead and in critical situation now.

FIFA World Cup - Bravo Aussie Team |

So glad that in the match last night, Australia vs Japan, the Aussie team won a beautiful game.
In fact I do not have special preference on which team, but I don't like those Japanese being so arrogant. It's true that they have "exported" football players to other countries, but I could see why. In Rome I once wanted to buy a T-shirt of the Rome team but could not find a L size one so I asked if there was any. The shop assistant apologized to me (?) that they didn't have L size "with NAKATA". So I searched again. I could only find the ones "with NAKATA" and all other Japanese tourists there were robbing the shop with the T-shirt in that type. And have you even seen Nakata playing in any games not as a back-up player? the entire story is only about MONEY.
But I fully support Korea as they really have good player. There is one in ManU (but I forgot his name) who plays games regularly and always has goals. See ... this is why Korea should be proud of. Japan, good night la~
But for Aussie, they did their best and played a beautiful game. It's their first time returning to World Cup final in 32 years and it showed that they cherished this opportunity. How? No giving up even near the end of the game but still could make 3 goals in 6 minutes~ Beautiful~ |

Rain Rain Rain |

So GOOD that throughout the whole weekend, we had rain (as old Chinese sayings, it's a good sign to have enough "water").
But because of RAIN, many GOOD NEWS came to my family:
One of the GOOD things that brought about by RAIN is that the gas bill has reached record high~ You know during rainy days, your laundry new gets dry so it's time that your dryer functions. Because it's a Town Gas thing, it can be imagined that why the gas bill is high ...
Another thing is that the water heater. You know during rainy days the temperature will drop a bit. So many of my family members need to take hot water shower (sorry, I take cold water shower). Because too frequent use, the heater is now out of order, though it's only less than a year old ...
Last but not lease, my leg problem - something may be rheumatism. My leg keeps torturing me and I think I really need medical consultation.
Why a little weather phenomenon creates so many problem to my family??? |

TV is broadcasting the opening match of World Cup 2006 - Deutschland vs Costa Rica. I really don't care too much about the match, but I saw my favorite ex-player Klinsmann. Although he is 40+ years old, but still so charming, good looking and wise. He is the coach of the Deutschland National team. Oh my god~

Fruity Friday |

There was a ROBBERY in our office today.
In response to the "Fruity Friday" organized by the World Cancer Research Fund, the office held a "fruit party" today during lunch time. We were all informed to join.
Actually before this lunch party, there were activities to raise fund for this campaign already. In the 1st week, Admin Dept. sold fruit in the Reception area: $20 for an apple / an orange, $10 for a banana etc. In the 2nd week, Admin helped to order "healthy" lunch set: salad cup, sanwich & fresh juice at $60. OK~ It's for charity so I spent $100 for a set yesterday.
When I was about to enter the conference for the fruity lunch today, Admin told me that an "Admission Fee" of $20 was required. Wasn't it a robbery? They had never mentioned about it in the various e-mail communication and all in a suddent, they robbed each of us $20 for the lunch.
For charity, $20 is nothing. But we should have been informed beforehand. We had not prepared our lunch and it was raining damn heavily that we could not go out for lunch. What should we do? Wasn't it a robbery?
