一名署名約翰衛斯理的人寫了這樣一個故事。

 一對夫婦在婚後十一年生了一個男孩，夫妻恩愛，男孩自然是二人的寶。男孩兩歲的某一天，丈夫在出門上班之際，看到桌上有一藥瓶打開了，不過因為趕時間，他只揚聲妻子把藥瓶收好，然後就關上門上班去。

妻子在廚房忙得團團轉，就忘了丈夫的叮囑。

男孩拿藥瓶，覺得好奇、又被藥水的顏色所吸引，於是一飲而盡。

藥水成份厲害，即使成人服用也只能用少量。男孩OD（Overdose 服藥過量），被送到醫院後，返魂乏術。

妻子被事實嚇呆了，不知如何面對丈夫。緊張的父親趕到醫院，得知噩耗非常傷心，看兒子的屍體，望了妻子一眼，然後說了四個字。

作者叫讀者猜，這丈夫說了四個甚麼字？

答案是：「I love you, darling!」

作者說：這反應是 Proactive 的（即反過來控制局面，而不被局面控制）。

作者亦盛讚這丈夫是人類關係的天才，因為兒子的死已成事實，再吵再罵也不會改變事實，只惹來更多的傷心，而且不只自己失去兒子，妻子也失去兒子。 

這故事， 主旨是彰顯人類選擇的自我層次 ， 同一件不幸事你可以怨天尤人，痛罵社會，甚至自責無窮，但事情卻不因這些而改變，這一切只改變了你和日後的生活，負著疤痕的活下去。

反之，放下怨恨和懼怕，放下過去，勇敢的活下去，事情的境況原來並不如想像中壞，這就是作者所說的 Proactive Behavior，也就是我們所說的由人轉境 ，而不是被外界事物牽走 。

很簡短的故事,但是,有多少人能做到呢?當我看到那句 " I love you, darling! " 的時候,心中感概萬千,多麼簡單的一句話,但要有多久的修練,多大的包容,多深的人生智慧,才能在那種時刻說出如此令人動容的一句話 ,每個人都有不想讓人所知的不幸事,自己選擇了什麼方式去面對 ,又怎麼去面對未來以及週邊的人事物,與你分享我的感想,也祝福朋友你永遠順心喜樂 !

天很黑的時候，星星就會出現！

只要學會放下.......不是放棄。

曾在報上看過一位署名「老講」的讀者提到，英文中的 stressed（壓力），與 desserts（甜點）兩字，有很微妙的相關。是什麼相關呢？仔細一瞧，好像沒什麼關係嘛！

可是，再看一下，咦， stressed這個字從後面 "倒過來"拼寫，不就是desserts嗎？

所以，「Stressed is just desserts if you can reverse.」（壓力就是甜點，只要你能逆向觀看。）

哈，這真是有趣的妙論呀！人生之中，有許多「壓力、挫折」，但只要轉個念、換個角度看，它也就是我們生命中的「甜點」呀！

此外，也有人說：「人生就像一碗飯，一半是甜的，一半是苦的，你不知道會先吃到哪一邊，但終究必須把飯吃完。」

是呀，生命有甜、有苦、有酸、也有辣；但都必須去經歷它、走過它呀！

在北京清華大學的 學生餐廳，有一位二十八歲的饅頭師傅小張，他雖然所受的教育不多 ，每天都在食堂裡做饅頭，辛苦工作十一個小時，但在休息時間，他自學英文，也把握各種機會開口說英語，結果，他的托福成績考了六百三十分。

小張說 ，他第一次開口說英語，是幾個學生在等著拿飯 時，等急了，他就脫口而出：「 Would you please wait for a while ? Thank you for your patience. 」（ 請等一下好嗎？謝謝你的耐心。）

小張這麼一說，在場的學生都大吃一驚—天 哪，這個饅頭師傅竟然會說英語？可是，這真的 是他自修英語的成果呀！

小張說，他有三個 夢想：「一是出國唸書，二是寫書，三是當一名新聞記者。」他又說：「一輩子總要 出一次國，人生才無遺憾。」

如今，很多清大學生特 別跑到餐廳，來一睹托福高手、會說英語的饅頭師傅；而小張也說：「我是一個敢於 作夢的人！敢在賣飯窗口大膽地說英語，就是對我自己的最大挑戰！」

哇，我真是感動！一個人「輸在起跑點」又何妨？人生路很漫長，只要「變」，就能「通」呀！一個人，不求內在改變，就一定會失敗呀！

所以， 曾有一前輩說：「在天很黑的時候，星星就會出現！」

的確，在逆境中、在黑暗沮喪的心情中，只要勇敢真心把憂鬱踢走，那麼，星星就會出現，人的生命，也就會「發現光明」啊！

OMG~  Christopher Reeve is so handsome~

Pearl is so considerate to show the original Superman movie of 1978 tonight - and so is HMV - I could find the VCD of Superman 1 & 2 there.  But I want to say, some people is even nicer to put the BT of all 4 previous Superman movies on the forums.

Thanks to technology that we can recap the movies of this great comic from the US.

P.S. Can you read my mind - every good movie has a good song and so does Superman 1.

It's now 10pm of Jul 22, when the Book Fair is open to the public for free.  Heard from radio that the queue is long.  I wonder:  people go to the book fair for books, or for shopping?

Many of the people, especially the young ones go to the book fair for book "written" by celebrities, or some even go to buy cute stationery.  I was specially glad when I went last night that the booth of PageOne and some other big book stores were crowded - as there was no books written by Shephie or Ekin etc.  People visiting those booths should be really looking for real books. 

So now, the people waiting hours outside just want to enjoy the free entrance, are they really going to get books for their knowledge or simply for entertainment?  I don't know ...

People once said whoever has a mouth / a voice can be a singer.  Now I wanna say people whoever has a mouth can also be a writer, or what we call in cantonese 才子 / 才女???

Oh my god~  The new Superman is sooooooo handsome~  When he is flying - he is so gorgeous, charming that his face features are perfect like machine made.

And all the other roles in the movie are great - Lois is beautiful, Richard (Lois' fiance) is handsome (hey~ isn't he Cyclope?), Jimmy is cute and even the Mr. Editor is great.  But just a bit disappointed that Kevin Spacy is not as good as expected.  Maybe he is not good at playing the role of a bad guy.

This is indeed a great movie - in the first place the director has casted the right actor to be Superman.  He reminds me of Christopher Reeve whom I fell in love with since my all time favorite "Somewhere in Time", and then I went back to his Superman series.  In heaven he will be smiling as he is always our Superman in our heart.

Hey~  Will I be able to meet some cute guy like (the old and new version) Superman in Scotland, or even in London?  Guys, please keep your fingers crossed for me.  Thank you.

It's a relief.

I formally turned down the offer by LA.  I can risk my future but I cannot risk my fortune.  I no longer have to worry about what would happen if I continue to work for the company.

Now, my only concern is how to enjoy my holiday in Scotland & London, then after coming back, I have to concentrate in job hunting.

I'm not good at making choices - particularly at difficult situation. 

Now there is one in front of me - stay or go.  Stay?  Unforeseen organization re-restructure and possible redundancy again (but no good package).  Go?  unforeseen future due to my mid-age crisis.  Oh~  Can anyone give me some advice.

The funny thing is the superstitious Michelle has once asked for Tarot reading and the answer was "do whatever you want to do and you will cherish the outcome".  See...

What a good day~  Rain, Disneyland, shopping ... happy happy ...

First, because of rain, may people refrained from going to Disneyland so I could try the new attractions: Autopia and Contact with Stitch.  Then, for the old attractions, I could go straight into the game hall without waiting.  Ya - hoo~

Disneyland - thanks for the promotion by Disneyland Inc to their cast members, I could visit HK Disneyland FOR FREE by the help of Nancy~  Dear Nancy, you are simply wonderful~

Then, shopping.  I did quite a lot of shopping there - T-shirt, cookies, candies ... so happy~

Moreover, I had a great dinner in the Plaza Inn.  The price was reasonable and the dishes were delicious.  Oh~  I have to say despite many people think HK Disneyland is this bad and that bad, I think it's the best.  No matter which Disneland you go to, only the one here you can have the feeling of "being home".  The service of the cast member is friendly and polite.  Oh~  Nancy reminded me that I should write to HK Disneyland to let them know how I was appreciated.  I really should and really would.

Last Thursday - We were told that the company would lay us off.  Just tne next day, my "neighbor" had an offer to stay in the office but work for the China team.  Then, today, I got my offer.

HR told me that head quarter asked me through HR if I can stay.  I cannot make a decision as there are too many unknown.  Just wait & see what they advise la~

Think that I need to change the dates for my travel lu~
